KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) rejected Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P)’s pleas against delimitations for LG polls. As per details, Sindh High Court heard plea filed by MQM-P against delimitations for Local Government elections in Karachi. MQM-P counsel told Court that it was basically issue of towns and Union Councils’ delimitations. Delimitation done by Sindh government is biased and it’s for their own political benefits, he added.
SHC remarked that court has already announced a verdict on notification which was challenged by MQM-P. Supreme Court has also maintained SHC decision. After hearing arguments, SHC rejected MQM-P’s two pleas against delimitations.
Earlier, two-member bench of Sindh High Court sent petition of MQM-P seeking larger bench to Chief Justice. MQM counsel has said that party has challenged election rules and notification.
