SHC orders removal of Sharjeel’s name from ECL

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered to permanently uproot Pakistan Peoples’ Party leader and Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon’s name from Exit Control List (ECL) in assets beyond means case. As per details, a hearing was conducted in SHC and a two-member bench headed by Justice KK Agha heard case. Court ordered authorities to permanently remove Sharjeel’s name from list.

Notably on October 4, Sindh High Court ordered removal of his name from ECL in case of Rs 5.75 billion corruption in Sindh Information Department.

Sindh High Court, while accepting revision petition of Sharjeel Memon, ordered removal of name from no-fly list. His lawyer submitted before court that politician had to repeatedly seek permission from court to travel outside Pakistan adding that Sharjeel Memon is appearing regularly in trial court.

NAB and federal government counsel have also supported permanent removal of Sharjeel Memon’s name from ECL.
