SHC orders for extradition of two accused from Sweden, UAE

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) in C.P. No.D-7280 of 2022 has been informed in hearing that perpetual arrest warrants with regard to extradition of Pakistani Khurram Nisar from Sweden to Pakistan have been received from concerned trial court and SSP CTD Investigation has made up an application to IGP Sindh for issuance of red notice, which has been approved by IGP Sindh and Home Department, Sindh government. It has now been sent to Ministry of Interior for further action.

SHC on last date of hearing had issued notice to Secretary and Ministry of Interior that person well acquainted with facts of case shall appear in person. However, none had put an appearance on behalf of Ministry of Interior. Therefore, on June 2, Court ordered that senior officer from Ministry of Interior fully aware of facts of case shall appear before Court on next date of hearing and update Court about position regarding red notice. If Secretary of Ministry of Interior fails to send well-conversant officer from his Ministry, he is directed to attend in person.

Earlier, with regard to case of extradition of Syed Taqi Haider Shah from Dubai to Pakistan, statement was filed by focal person on Court matters from Home Department. He stated that required documents were sent by Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Pakistan Embassy, UAE Abu Dhabi. Embassy after attesting documents will forward them today to competent authority dealing with extradition in UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Interior both shall follow up on this matter and file detailed reports on next date of hearing which is expected to show that Syed Taqi Haider Shah has now been extradited from Dubai and if he has not been extradited, Secretary Ministry of Interior shall send person well aware with facts of case and shall brief Court as to why extradition has not taken place yet and whether or not Syed Taqi Haider Shah is in custody of UAE Authorities or is roaming in UAE and also confirm that he is still in UAE.
