SHC diverts PTI-JI’s pleas against 3 results of LB seats to election tribunal

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) plea challenging results of three councilors seats in Baldia UC-2 in Karachi LG polls.

PTI and JI moved SHC against victory of Pakistan Peoples’ Party candidates from Baldia UC-2. Court said as per law, it cannot hear plea regarding alleged ‘rigging’ in polls at present and directed parties to contact election tribunal on issue.

Political parties are raising allegations of rigging in Karachi LG polls. Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi amir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said, “We would block roads across country if it is needed.
