Shazia Marri criticises PTI for removing BB’s name from BISP

Karachi: Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Shazia Marri criticised former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s government for removing name of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto from Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), which was originally launched by PPP government to assist impoverished population of Pakistan.
Reports received here said that speaking on Senate floor, Marri expressed her astonishment at removal of Bhutto’s pictures from Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety and called on former PTI government to fund their own self-promotion instead. Marri also noted that Rs 404 billion had been reserved for BISP and that Sindh government had provided flour to 7.8 million deserving people. Meanwhile, House rejected resolution introduced by PTI Senators to restart Ehsaas Rashan Riayat programme to address food inflation.
