Sharmila visits destitute women at Aghosh Old Age Home

KARACHI: Leader of Pakistan Peoples’ Party, Member Sindh Assembly Sharmila Farooqui said that helping destitute people, especially destitute women is great philanthropic work and institutions and individuals associated with this great cause deserve praise.

On her visit to Aghosh Trust Old Age Home she was briefed by administration of institution about facilities being provided to destitute women. She asked women in institution about their problems and reviewed facilities provided there. She praised them. Sharmila said that philanthropists should play their role to help and care for needy people in society and give full support to organisations working for this purpose. She said that it is big challenged to take care of old age women who do not have homes, however Agosh is taking care of such women. “I am happy to see women in caring atmosphere at Aghosh Old Age Home.”

She met with Shagufta who is running Agosh and hailed her work. Aghosh has been setup with aim of providing shelter to destitute women amid home like environment, who do not have anyone to take care. Many of them are widow mothers who lost their son bread earner in some incident, she said.
