‘Sharjeel Memon directs completion of BRT Red Line project sans delay’

KARACHI: Sindh Minister of Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Memon taking notice of issues being faced by public on University Road directed for early completion of BRT Red Line Project.

Presiding over 22nd Board of Directors meeting of company reviewing progress on BRT Red Line project in detail he said that government was committed to completing project at earliest not only resolving issues of people but also modernising public transport system in Karachi.

He stressed on timely completion of all projects within estimated cost to save national treasury from additional burden of escalated expenditure on project due to increase in construction cost.

On matter of land for construction of BRT Red Line bus depot, Administrator Karachi Dr. Saifur Rehman told board that 10 acres of land has been allocated for construction of depot and that was available for immediate handover to concerned company Trans Karachi.

Secretary Transport Abdul Halim Sheikh, MD Sindh Mass Transit Authority Zubair Channa, board member Justice Retired Shaiq Usmani, Rukhsana Rahoja, Shumail Sikandar and CEO Trans Karachi Wasif approved minutes of 21st board meeting.
