Sharjeel hands over Rs5m cheque each to Sukkur, Mirpurkhas Press Club

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Memon handed over annual grant cheques to Sukkur, Mirpurkhas Press Clubs and Sukkur Union of Journalists.  He presented Rs 5 million each to Mirpurkhas Press Club, Sukkur Union of Journalists and Sukkur Press Club.

Grant cheque of Sukkur Press Club and Sukkur Union of Journalists was received by PFUJ Finance Secretary Lala Asad Pathan, President SUJ Saleem Sahito and President Sukkur Press Club Shahzad Tabani.  

Memon said that Sindh government was taking measures to ensure provision of facilities in all press clubs of province, adding that resolving the problems of journalists was among priorities of Sindh government.  Apart from press club, he stated that government was also extending full cooperation to journalist organisations so as to ensure welfare of journalists. He said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had directed Sindh government to solve issues facing journalists. 

Memon said that Pakistan Peoples’ Party always introduced policies for promotion of independence of media and for welfare of media workers. President Mirpurkhas Press Club Nazeer Panhwar, General Secretary Atif Baloch and Governing Body members Shaukat Panhwar and Wahid Pehlwani received cheque for Press Club Mirpurkhas.Secretary Sindh Information Department Imran Atta Soomro, Director Admin Muhammad Yusuf Kabooro, Regional Director Information Mirpurkhas Hizbullah Memon, Director Press Information Syed Hasan Asghar Naqvi and other officers were also present.
