Lahore: Sharjeel Memon leader of Pakistan Peoples’ Party has come down hard on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, alleging that party has historically come to power through backdoor deals.
Speaking at press conference here, Memon emphasised that people of Pakistan are now seeking new way of thinking and political leadership.
He highlighted PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s call for new way of thinking, stating that Bilawal aims to unite all Pakistanis against common challenges, such as poverty, inflation and unemployment.
He asserted that PPP is not competing against PML-N or PTI but is focused on addressing critical issues faced by nation. He accused PML-N of attacking institutions during challenging times, claiming that whenever PML-N faced difficulties, they targeted everyone, including opposition parties and institutions. Memon also criticised PTI for alleged misconduct against institutions in past.
PPP leaders have sacrificed their lives for country and he attributed damage to nation to negative thinking. He praised Chairman Bilawal for promoting positive thinking and urged public to decide in upcoming elections on February 8. He stated that PML-N leadership is in panic mode.
He alleged that PML-N leaders, including Ahsan Iqbal are making threats in response to successful PPP rally in what is considered PML-N stronghold.
He concluded by characterising tenure of PTI founder Imran Khan as worst period in country’s history and emphasised that his government’s removal was achieved through constitutional and legal means.
