ISLAMABAD: If you thought cricketers Haris Rauf, Shan Masood and Shaheed Shah Afridi were the only cricketers getting married this winter, you’re in for a major surprise. Another cricketer has crossed himself off the eligible bachelors list.

All-rounder Shadab Khan who took to Instagram to announce that he got married in a nikah ceremony on Monday. Did we see this one coming? Not at all. The cricketer took to Instagram and Twitter where he shared that on Monday, he had his nikah, a big day that marks the beginning of a new chapter in his life. “Please respect my choices and those my wife’s and our families. Prayers and love for all,” Khan said, asking for privacy.

In his statement he wrote, “I am becoming part of my mentor Saqi Bhai’s (Saqlain Mushtaq’s) family. When I started playing cricket, I wanted to keep my family life separate, my family has also opted to stay out of public light. My wife has asked for the same, she wants her life to remain private.” He once again requested his followers to respect his and his wife’s choices as well as their families’. Khan joked that if in case anyone wants to send salami, then he can send them the account number. Khan received congratulatory messages from Pakistan Super League (PSL) host Erin Holland, tennis player Sania Mirza, actors Asad Siddiqui and Ushna Shah and South African cricketer Tabraiz Shamsi under his Instagram post.
