RAWALPINDI: Special Election Tribunal of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench led by Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf has declared nomination papers of former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad from NA-56, 57 and nomination papers of PML-Z head Muhammad Ijazul Haq, PTI leader Muhammad Basharat Raja and PPP candidate Babar Jadoon from NA-55 in order.  Court has given decision on appeal files by these candidates against rejection of their nomination papers from these constituencies.

Court while nullifying decisions of respective Returning Officer’s (RO’s) has allowed three appellants to contest election.

Tribunal while issuing notice on appeal pleas of former Minister Fawad Chaudhry against rejection of his nomination papers from two constituencies of Jhelum has summoned returning officers.

During preliminary hearing of petition, Faisal Farid brother of Fawad Chaudhry had appeared in court, He took plea that Fawad Chaudhry is being targeted on political basis. Nomination papers of Fawad Chaudhry have been rejected by raising bogus objections to keep him from election.
