ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League Chief and former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed urged President Arif Alvi to announce election date today or resign from his office.

“As per Constitution, President can give an election date,” Sheikh Rasheed said while talking to media men here. Sheikh Rasheed said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is yet undecided over contesting by-polls in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He claimed that elections in centre and provinces will be held at same time.

“Only Supreme Court can save Pakistan after Allah,” Sheikh Rasheed was quoted as saying. He said Pakistan has ‘default’, confirmation was also made by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. Calling fresh elections in country is only solution to steer country out of present crises, he maintained.
