RAWALPINDI: APM Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said people hit by inflation and poverty would expose government's 15-month performance on polling day in case elections were held in transparent manner.
In tweet, Awami Muslim League Chief said government could do whatever it wanted during remaining 20 days as rulers won't get another opportunity. About ruling alliance, Rasheed noted JUI-F talked about contesting polls from all constituencies with PML-N being against seat adjustment and PPP going in race on its own symbol.
He had previously predicted that alliance would be torn apart, former Interior Minister recalled and added that ruling parties were going to face people's wrath in elections.
Rasheed said IMF's harsh conditions would cause new problems for Pakistan's economy and further harm poor. Friendly nations too, he added, had advised to fix domestic issues and ensure political and economic stability.
While claiming poor had become orphans, Rasheed listed problems faced by country from brain drain and zero expansion in industrial base to absence of investment and increase in poverty and questioned how those responsible for price hike of every commodity would ask people to vote them into power again.
He said real issue was selection of new caretaker Prime Minister. Whether he should be politician or an economist was bone of contention which might develop into serious dispute, Rasheed said.
An honest and impartial caretaker Prime Minister would kill very desire for rigging, thus enhancing country's standing at international level, said AML Chief.
