RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed challenged evacuation orders of Lal Haveli by Evacuee Trust Property Board. Sheikh Rasheed through his lawyer Sardar Abdul Razaq filed plea in court of Additional Session Judge Khursheed Alam Bhatti against ETPB.

Terming evacuation orders of Lal Haveli as political victimisation, Sheikh Rasheed said property belongs to him from decades and despite hearing case scheduled for October 24, Evacuee Trust Property Board served evacuation notice. Court while barring ETPB from taking any action on matter served notice to board and summoned its director along with record today. Earlier, ETPB while rejecting AML Chief’s plea for transfer and regularisation of properties, ordered former interior minister and his brother to vacate properties including Lal Haveli within seven days.

Verdict said hearing was adjourned several times on request of Sheikh Rasheed to present documents of property but he failed. Verdict further said ETPB has decided to take back control of properties as per directions of Supreme Court.
