Karachi: 15th Food Safety and Quality Conference and Award was organised by Consumer Association of Pakistan (CAP) technical session was also held at event.

Experts expressed their opinion. Chefs and restaurants that fully implement health principles were awarded High Performance Award. Consul General Malaysia Harman Hardinata Ahmad was special guest while PCSIR Dr. Naseem Khan, Dr. Jawaria Alam of Food and Agriculture, Canada and Saudi Arabia Food Consultant Dr. Zafar Alam, Chairman NAFSMTOS, PSM Professor Dr. Sadaf Akbar, Chairman Microbiology Dr. Mahmood Kazemi, Vice Consul General Iran Ghulam Abbas Zabuli, DG Sindh Food Authority Agha Fakhr Hussain, Director General Pakistan Halal Authority Akhtar Bhugio, President NAMCO and Bakers Association Sheikh Tahseen, Director Gotham Institute Sabir Ahmad, Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Dr. Farhan Aslam, Chairman Cape Kokab Iqbal, chairperson of Cape Women Wing and President Pakistan Society for Microbiology Professor Dr. Shahana Arooj Kazmi, senior Vice Chairman Sheikh Khalil, Vice Chairman Abdul Jabbar Rathore, Abdul Salam Dadabhai, Junaid Abdul Qadir, Farqan Abdul Qadir, Farqan Bilal, Sir Faraz Ahmad Khan and CEO Security Guard Ahmar Aziz were present.

Consumers in Pakistan are not only getting awareness about non-standard and harmful health products but now consumers are also raising their voices for their legitimate rights.

Agha Fakhr Hussain said CAP is raising voice for consumers not only in Sindh but in whole of Pakistan. With efforts of CAP Chairman Kokb Iqbal, food authority and consumer courts have been established in Sindh, Punjab and other provinces, which is very worthy.

Director General of Pakistan Halal Authority Akhtar Bhugio said that among Pakistani consumers, purchase of halal and quality items. To spread more awareness about he said that life is where it is, so we have to maintain quality of food and drink by implementing principles of health.

Kokab Iqbal said that CAP’s mission is in people. Raising awareness about legitimate rights so that halal and high quality products can be made available to people. He said that establishment of food authorities and consumer courts is major success of CAP.
