KARACHI: The journalist community came in utter shock with the news of sudden death of senior journalist and News Editor of Balochistan Times Asif Shaikh who passed away yesterday afternoon following to cardiac arrest.
The sixty three years old Shaikh left behind a widow and two sons. The family members of late journalist informed that the funeral prayers will be offered today at Masjid Darul Salam near his residence in S-47, PECHS Block 2 after Jumma prayers while the burial will take place at Sher Shah Cemetery.
Asif Shaikh spent over three decades in English journalism serving at various print and electronic media outlets. He was outspoken and always played an active role in fighting for the journalists rights from the platforms of Karachi Press Club, PFUJ, KUJ and others.
Journalist community expresses deepest condolences to Shaikh’s family with prayers that may his soul rest in eternal peace and may Almighty Allah grant courage to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. Asif Shaikh you will be missed forever!!!
