ISLAMABAD: Senate Functional Committee on Delegated Legislation under Chairmanship of Senator Mian Raza Rabbani convened to examine delegated legislation of selected attached departments of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. After thorough examination, committee presented rigorous report, raising various queries regarding regulations that are not in accordance with their parent acts.

During meeting, committee discussed Islamabad Capital Territory Private Educational Institutions (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2013. Committee members noted that Private Educational Institutions (Registration and Fee Determination) Rules, 2016 were challenged by private educational institutions through writ petition and IHC declared several sub-rules ultra vires to their parent act.–PPI
