Senate elections expected in March

The Senate elections are anticipated to occur in the initial week of March. Preparation for these elections commenced alongside the general election announcement.
Around 50 senate members are expected to retire by March 11. However, despite four seats becoming vacant post the FATA merger, the total number of senate members will remain at 96.
Subsequent to the general elections, the Senate will hold elections for the 48 vacant seats. These senators will be elected by members from national and provincial assemblies.
