Self-confidence can be defined as belief in yourself and your abilities. It is basically freedom from doubt. It is not something that can be taught. It is something that we develop internally by ourselves. It is very important to live a healthy and happy life.  It is something which comes from self-love. In order to have confidence in yourself. It won't be far-fetched to say that self-confidence is key to success. If not, it is definitely first step towards success. When a person has self-confidence, they are halfway through their battle. Self-confidence is one of most important routes you have to take in your path to success. It makes a person independent, eager, optimistic, loving and positive. We see people in school, workplaces and public sectors who have achieved success be more initiative, more forward and active and more confident with their decisions, making them stand out from crowd.

But when it comes to a person who cannot trust themselves or believe in themselves, success is a hard gain for them. They become more vulnerable to criticism and failure. They also find it super hard to get back on their feet and carry on. Essence of being confident is to be moderate. Overloading of confident will make individuals to be arrogant. Differences between these two qualities is being confident is to trust yourself, at same time, willing to help people around you to success together; being arrogant is to be confident, but not willing to share information with others.

Concept of self-confidence is divided into three levels, confidence based on feeling, self-confidence based on belief and self-confidence based on knowledge. These three levels are used in different combinations, and a person who lacks these three levels would typically be less confident. Self-confidence helps a person improve their career, as it is simple for them to follow rules and regulations of their job. It helps them to achieve success in their life. It also helps to strengthen relationships and work on leadership and communication skills. Overall, we can say that self-confidence is necessary to become independent in life.

A person with confidence can face any kind of challenge in life. They are not scared of hurdles because they are confident that they can handle any situation. On other hand, some people are afraid of failure, making them under-confident. A person who lacks self-assurance will get scared and leave task midway. A self-confident person is an optimistic, loving, independent, assertive, eager, self-respect and self-control person, and believe and know well about own abilities. In contrast, a lack of self-confidence person is a pessimist, passivity, distrust, perfectionist, sensitive to criticism and failure, inferior, isolated, self-doubt and unhappy. Lack of self-confidence person always put on a sad, worry or confuse look, slump or bend shoulder when sitting and walking and folding arms, sometimes with crossing legs.

Confidence is an attitude that wavers between thinking highly of oneself and thinking little of oneself. One who exhibits self-confidence may not necessarily think they are exceptionally skilled in a particular field or activity, but they typically hold belief that their abilities are enough to help them achieve their goals. Self-confidence is a prerequisite for success in world. People who lack self-confidence are never going to strive for their own goals or take risks. Key to self-confidence is knowledge. Knowledge will help you know what you are capable of. Knowledge can be used to protect yourself from failure where self-confidence cannot and while knowledge does not take away your fault, knowledge can also help you with your faults. As long as people around you have more information than you do, they can either support you or point out what is wrong with your ideas without offending or hurting them in any way.

There are many advantages and disadvantages of self-confidence. Let's discuss some of them. Self-confidence allows individuals to have a sense of purpose in life, People with high self-confidence can have a positive outlook on life, it allows one to appreciate their value and worth regardless of opinion of others, it also helps to improve communication skills, Self-confidence enables people to form new and valuable relationships and so on. As we have discussed advantages of self-confidence above, below are some of its disadvantages.

People with high self-assurance may sometimes face failures in their performance, Due to high self-esteem, some people may pretend their humble, those who have low self-esteem may be more prone to substance and drug abuse, With low self-esteem may not be able to take advantage of their career opportunities, Low self-esteem can lead to anxiety, stress, depression, and loneliness too etc.

All in all, a person will gain self-confidence from their own personal experience and decision. No one speech or conversation can bring an instant change. It is a gradual but constant process we must all participate in. It will take time but once you achieve it, nothing can stop you from conquering every height in life. So start looking at yourself differently, in a positive way. It can change your life and help your confidence level to rise.  It is a slow and constant process and we all should participate in it. It takes time, but once you achieve it, nothing can stop you from conquering every height in life. So, to hype up your confidence, always give yourself a pep talk.
