Security will be provided to journalist, assures SHO

Karachi: Reporter of a English Daily newspaper was assured of security by SHO Azizabad Police Station Kamran Haider in connection with life threats hurling against him by Malik Mehdi Mohmed Somani, Chairman Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (KIMCSL).

According to complaint lodged by reporter at Police Station, it was said that there are many complaints against Malik of financial frauds, cheating Society’s members of money and defaulter of Pak Fidai General Cooperative Society Limited. Besides Malik has made life miserable of KIMCSL’s members who used to raise voice against his corrupt practices. Malik has threatened them of dire consequences in case if they would not stop raising voice against him, complaint read.

Malik has also been facing two FIRs for brawling Society’s members and threatening of dire consequences. SHO praised reporter’s courage for his steadfastness. SHO said that legal action would be taken in order to curb occurring of such incidents in future, according to statement of reporter.

Earlier firing incidents in Society premises were also reported and latest incident was happened on May 27, 2023 and fortunately no one was hurt. When reporter asked Malik to provide CCTV recording of the incidents, he refused to provide and warned him of dreadful consequences.
