Security plan for Pak-Eng cricket series reviewed

Karachi: Fool-proof security measures in connection with T-20 matches between Pakistan and England at National Stadium Karachi were taken by Security Division. According to security plan, more than 4,000 personnel are deployed for security arrangements.

Some 2,000 personnel of Security Division including 1,000 Special Security Unit Commandos and lady commandos, 1,537 personnel of Traffic Police, 356 personnel of Special Branch, 300 personnel of Rapid Response Force and personnel of Pak Army and Sindh Rangers are performing security duties along-with personnel from other law enforcement agencies at National Stadium.

Karachi Airport, routes, hotels and other areas sharp shooters have also been deployed at these sensitive points.  Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T) team comprising highly trained and well-equipped Commandos including Lady Commandos are remained alert at SSU Headquarters and patrol in surroundings of stadium as quick response force to challenge any emergency situation. SSU’s specialised command and control bus has also been stationed at National Stadium to monitor law and order situation in surroundings of Stadium. Aerial surveillance is also made during movement of teams.  

CNG-run vehicles and all type of drones are strictly prohibited inside Stadium premises. All roads remained open for commuters except one track of Sir Shah Suleman Road.  Expo Centre for general public, spectators is at Gate No 1 for parking on University Road. China Ground adjacent to National Coaching Centre is for VIPs only.
