‘Security Forces gunned down terrorist’

RAWALPINDI: Terrorist was gunned down by security forces during an Intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Awaran district, Inter-Services Public Relations said in statement.
According to statement of military’s media wing, troops approached operation after receiving “Credible lead” with regards to presence of terrorists’ hide-out. These terrorists, as per ISPR were involved in recent Improvised Explosive Device attacks in area.
“Heliborne force was used to sanitise area which surprised terrorists,” statement read. Forces also seized large cache of weapons and ammunition in operation, ISPR said. “Security forces of Pakistan will continue to thwart any attempt by inimical elements to disrupt hard-earned peace in province,” military media wing mentioned. A day earlier, too, security forces gunned down eight terrorists during sanitisation operation in Balochistan’s Mazaaband Range. ISPR stated that terrorists attempted to ambush convoy of security forces in Kech District of Balochistan.
“While alert and combat-ready troops not only foiled this cowardly attempt without any loss of life, they also immediately commenced follow-up operation to hunt down fleeing terrorists using ground and aviation assets,” read statement. Resultantly, on morning of February 23, suspected hideout of terrorists was identified in Mazaaband Range where sanitisation operation was launched.
