Section 4 of SC Bill challenged in LHC

LAHORE: Section 4 of Supreme Court (SC) Practice and Procedure Act has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC). Federal government, President Arif Alvi has been made respondents through principal secretary in petition filed by Mashkoor Hussain through Nadim Sarwar advocate.
Petitioner has taken plea Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act has become Act after having been approved from both houses of Parliament.
Through section 4 of Act right to appeal against suo motu decision has been given. Petitioner took plea granting right to appeal against suo motu decision runs contrary to Article 184 and 185 of Constitution. Right to appeal can be given only by making amendment in Articles 184 and 185.
Petitioner has requested court to nullify section 4 of Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act besides stopping implementation of section 4 till decision of this case.
