ISLAMABAD: Number of pending cases in Supreme Court (SC) has been decreased by 2,653, according to data released for current calendar year 2022, which ended on December 16.
Decline in number of undecided cases is reported for first time since computerisation of records in 2013.
Despite pending appointments, SC judges have outperformed themselves without full strength of judges since February 2022.
According to chart released by SC, number of filed cases was more than decided cases every year since 2013, piling up burden of cases on court.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial paid special attention to deal with pending cases, formulating policy to hear cases every day.
