ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court rejected plea seeking to stop prosecution from taking any action against PTI Chairman Imran Khan in murder of known lawyer in Quetta.
As defence objected to nominating their client in murder case, they had requested court to issue stay order. However, two-member bench comprising Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Ayesha Malik didn't accept application against non-bailable warrants issued for accused.
Bench observed that two-member high court bench had dismissed plea therefore, two-member Supreme Court bench couldn't grant stay.
Earlier on June 6, PTI Chief was booked in murder case of Abdur Razzaq Shar, Supreme Court lawyer who was assassinated by unidentified persons on Airport Road in provincial capital.
Case under murder and terrorism sections were lodged on complaint of victim's son as police said killers shot him with Kalashnikov. Shar was one of petitioners in treason case against PTI Chairman.
