SC orders Sindh govt to complete appointments process of disabled persons quota

KARACHI: Supreme Court (SC) has ordered Sindh government to complete process of appointments against disabled persons’ quota in all provincial departments within four months.

Case against non-making appointments on disabled quota in departments of Sindh came up for hearing before SC Karachi registry before three member bench. Members of bench were Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi.

Court ordered that process of making appointments against disabled quota in all provincial departments be completed within four months.

Counsel for petitioner took plea in court that quota for disabled persons was allocated in all departments of province. Despite it Sindh government is not providing jobs to disabled persons. Sindh government be ordered to implement order regarding appointment on disabled persons’ quota.

Additional Advocate General Sindh told court appointments will be made in departments where posts are lying vacant. Sindh government has implemented disabled persons’ quota to some extent.

Court expressed annoyance over Sindh government for not implementing disabled persons’ quota completely. Court remarked process for making appointments against disabled persons quota in all departments be started within two weeks.

Court ordered Sindh government to complete appointments process in all departments within four months.
