SC orders recovery of Sindh-based missing girls

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) ordered interior secretary and Sindh Chief Secretary to recover girls disappeared from Sindh and submit report in first week of January 2023. During hearing of case, three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial ordered tops officials to speed up recovery of missing Baloch girls.  

Mother of missing Mahreen Baloch told court that her ex-husband Asif Baloch had got her daughters disappeared from last six years and that she was only looking towards court for justice. CJ remarked that state is responsible for security of citizens and tracing missing persons. Justice Athar Minallah further inquired that who is to be held responsible if state fails to retrieve missing persons. Hyderabad Police DIG told court that efforts are being made to recover missing girls. Court then adjourned case till next hearing.
