SC orders ministry to take steps for enacting legislation in respect of Gun, Country Club

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has ordered Ministry of Interprovincial Coordination to take steps for making legislation in respect of Gun and Country Club besides giving name of audit firm for audit of Club. 3-member bench of court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial took up case for hearing. CJP while addressing member Club Naeem Bokhari advocate remarked you have used harsh words against secretary of government. We did not expect such words from you. We cannot allow character assassination of any one. Such words be expunged from miscellaneous petition.

Advocate Naeem Bokhari told court I tendered resignation several time from management committee. Private company is demanding Rs 6.5 million for audit of Club. CDA is demanding Rs 40 million on account of property tax. We are ready to pay amount to CDA. But lease of Club land be approved.

CJP remarked Club collected Rs 400 million to Rs 500 million. Club land is owned by CDA. Club should make some payment to CDA.–PPI
