ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has issued written order pertaining to May 2 hearing of petitions filed against Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill-2023. It has been said in 4-page written order gazette notification of Supreme Court rules and procedure bill was issued. Order for stopping implementation of Supreme Court rules and procedure bill is still there. Court while directing all respondents including political parties through its order to file their written replies has summoned all record of debate in joint session of both houses of Parliament on occasion of approval of Supreme Court rules and procedure bill.

No mention is made in order about objection raised by Pakistan Bar Council regarding 8-member bench.

8-member larger bench of SC under Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial will hear case in SC Islamabad Registry on May 8.
