SBP issues Rs50 commemorative coin on golden jubilee of Senate

KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan issued commemorative coin of Rs 50 to mark golden jubilee of Senate Upper House of Parliament of Pakistan. Year 2023 marks golden jubilee of Senate and government for celebrating significant occasion has authorised central bank to issue Rs 50 commemorative coin, said statement issued here.

Coin is being issued through exchange counters of all field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation from March 17, 2023. Coin is in round shape milled with dimension of 30.0 mm, weight 13.5 grams and has Cupro-Nickel metal contents with 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel.

On obverse face of coin, waxing crescent moon and five-pointed star facing North West in position is in centre while along periphery, on top of crescent star, words ‘Islami Jamhuria Pakistan’ are inscribed in Urdu script.

Below crescent and on top of two springs of wheat with arms curved upward, there is year of issuance-2023. Face value of coin in numeral ‘50’ in bold letters and ‘Rupia’ in Urdu script are written on right and left sides of crescent star respectively.
