KARACHI: The Aga Khan Southern Regional Council has categorically denied any support to the “One Man” corruption show in Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society (KIMCSL) by its so called Secretary Imran Arwan Punjwani.

They said that we were not responsible for illegal construction of six stories building in Society premises. We had visited the site and witnessed the blindfold construction by eliminating parks, playground and retiring rooms in the Society. They said that incumbent society administration had promised to provide flats to Society members but so far they were failed in doing so.

Informed sources disclosed that Shahzad Tharani former Director United Panel and Imran Arwan Punjwani Secretary KIMCSL ST2 were involved in unlawful and dangerous construction work in society while allegedly involved in misappropriation of funds, they said.

It may be mentioned here that on November 2, 2016, Amin Lakhani President, Regional Council had said that visit of Regional Council was only aimed to oversee development work; otherwise they were not involved in any wrong doings. Sources said that innocent and helpless Society members have urged the Aga Khan Regional Council to again visit and consult the genuine representatives to gather first-hand knowledge of the serious issues being faced and get them resolved immediately.

Imran Arwan Punjwani initially invited quotations from various auditor firms on 17 June 2023 in the metropolitan but practically instead of short listing and selecting any one of them he awarded the audit of Society accounts to an unknown company which did not participate in due process; without stating any reason.

Malik Mehdi elected Chairman of the incumbent Committee was few months back illegally ousted by Imran Arwan Punjwani Secretary just to run his “One Man Show” arbitrarily and without any accountability. Commenting on this situation Malik Mehdi stated that the bunch of Imran Arwan Punjwani favorites was violating rules and regulations of building construction for minting money by booking for Rs.25 million on each flat of 1080 sq.ft. Original plan of this building was of four stories while Imran is constructing six to eight stories without any advance approval or permission from the SBCA or any other competent authority.
