SArabia, US denounce attack on Imran Khan

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia strongly condemned and denounced assassination attempt on former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency.
Ministry affirmed Saudi Arabia’s standing with Pakistan and its people in face of all threats to its security, stability and development march. “Kingdom pledges its support for all efforts aimed at eliminating violence, extremism and terrorism in all their forms and manifestations,” statement said while wishing Pakistan and its people safety, stability and prosperity.
Meamwhile US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has strongly condemned shooting of former Prime Minister Imran Khan at a political rally and wished him quick recovery. United States strongly condemns shooting of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and others at a political rally, he said in a statement posted on State Department’s website.
We wish Imran Khan and all others who were injured a quick and thorough recovery and we offer our condolences to family of individual who was killed, Blinken said.
Violence has no place in politics and we call on all parties to refrain from violence, harassment, and intimidation, he said.
