Sania Mirza calls herself ‘warrior’

In recent Instagram post, Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, who was formerly married to cricket player Shoaib Malik, referred to herself as “Warrior”.

“Some days she is warrior. Some days she’s broken mess. Most days, she’s bit of both,” read her post, which is now viral across entertainment pages on social media. “But every day she’s there. Standing. Fighting. Trying. She is me,” Sania admitted in end.

Sania’s father, Imran Mirza confirmed to Indian news agencies few weeks prior to most recent post that she had sought separation from her ex-husband through khula, which is Muslim woman’s right to divorce her husband, following announcement of Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed’s marriage in January.

Sania Mirza family made an official statement confirming that two had separated months ago and requesting privacy for star during this sensitive time in her life.
