LONDON: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said Nawaz Sharif would lead Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in upcoming elections as his presence was mandatory for party’s success.

Talking to media, he said PML-N senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz would also participate in campaign adding Maryam would return to country next week. Responding to question, he said Nawaz could be first female Chief Minister of Punjab.

He said judiciary must pay heed to PML-N’s reservations on CM Elahi’s vote of confidence in Punjab Assembly adding baseless allegations of horse-trading were levelled against them. “PTI leaders were not satisfied with dissolution of Punjab Assembly”, he added.

Commenting on elections, he said it was possible that election might not be held in three months. “Though constitution binds election within 90 days but there are other provisions in Constitution too”, he added.

He said PTI Chief Imran Khan could face disqualification in Terrian White case adding if Imran should be arrested in Toshakhana case if it was legible”, he added.
