Sanaullah concerned on law, order situation after killing of 2 CTD officials in Khanewal

Khanewal: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah expressed concern over law and order situation in Punjab as two officials from Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) were gunned down by unknown assailants in Khanewal.
خانیوال میں CTD افسران پرفائرنگ کا واقعہ افسوسناک ہے۔ IG اور CS سے افسران کی ہلاکت کی رپورٹ طلب کی ہے۔ پنجاب میں امن امان کی صورتحال باعث تشویش ہے۔ حکومت ایسے واقعات کے روک تھام کیلئے فوری پیش بندی کرے۔ دعا ہے اللّٰہ تعالیٰ CTD افسران کے درجات بلند کرے؛ ورثاء کو صبر جمیل عطا کرے۔

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, meanwhile, said that he had summoned report from Punjab Inspector General and Chief Secretary. “Law and order situation in Punjab is cause for concern,” he said. He called on government to take steps to prevent such incidents. A statement issued by Punjab police said Additional Inspector General Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan had departed for crime scene after receiving information about incident.
Perpetrators will be brought to justice, spokesperson said, adding that further facts would be brought to light after matter was investigated. Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi took notice of incident and paid tribute to slain officials while extending his condolences to their families. Elahi also sought report from provincial police chief.
