London: Saim Ayub breathed a sigh of relief after tests confirmed his ankle injury, though serious, poses no long-term damage.
The injury, which occurred during the match against South Africa, led to a fracture in Ayub’s ankle. In response, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to send him to London for a comprehensive medical assessment to ensure he receives the best care possible. Saim Ayub, accompanied by assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, underwent a thorough check-up with Dr. Jeyaseelan, who reviewed his test results and reports. Following the consultation, Ayub shared that the doctors assured him the injury had not caused major damage, and his condition had normalised. He also mentioned that he had been given permission to put weight on the injured foot. While Ayub’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy remains uncertain, the final decision on his inclusion in the provisional squad will be made after additional consultations with medical specialists in London.
