Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, five days after sustaining critical injuries in a stabbing incident at his home.
The 54-year-old actor, who was rushed to the hospital following the attack, was accompanied by his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, as they returned to their Bandra residence. Doctors have confirmed that Khan is out of danger and is recovering well from the ordeal. The stabbing occurred on Thursday when an intruder attempted a burglary at Khan’s Bandra home. The assailant, who stabbed Khan six times, inflicted injuries around his neck, and a 2.5-inch-long knife had to be surgically removed from his spine. Following the attack, Khan underwent multiple surgeries to treat his wounds.
In response to the incident, Saif Ali Khan’s residence has implemented enhanced security measures, including the installation of additional CCTV cameras and a new security gate. The police arrested Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, on Sunday. Shahzad, who had changed his name to Vijay Das in an attempt to mislead the authorities, was apprehended in Thane. He had planned to rob a wealthy residence without knowing that it was the home of Saif Ali Khan. The police uncovered his true identity through a school leaving certificate found on his phone, which led to his arrest.
