Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori directed administrator Karachi to ensure safety measures in view of forecast of heavy rains while DMCs should take emergency measures to clean drains as urban areas will be flooded due to forecast of abnormal rains. There is risk of flooding. In this context, all possible resources should be used to deal with urban flooding.

He further said that special drainage arrangements should be made for low-lying areas of city. He directed that Municipal Corporation of Karachi should mobilize all its staff to make drainage system in city active, in this regard, Administrator of Karachi should supervise emergency measures themselves. He said that global warming has serious effects on entire region including Pakistan.
