KARACHI: Sindh Local Government Minister, Saeed Ghani, has said the Muttahida Quami Movement Pakistan utterly lacked the justification to speak on the issues of Karachi because of its past role in terrorizing a peaceful and illuminated city.

A statement issued yesterday quoted the Local Government Minister as saying that the natives of Karachi had buried the politics of MQM based on hatred. He said the MQM had been responsible for ruining Karachi’s civic agencies. He mentioned that MQM had played a dreadful role in ruining the city’s different civic agencies, including KWSC, KDA, KMC, and MDA. He said that MQM was no longer a valid political entity.

He opined that MQM was beset by internal differences and was under complete control of the elements earlier associated with the now-defunct PSP. The Local Government Minister said that MQM was under an obligation to answer why it chose to stay away from the last local government polls in the city. He said the Pakistan Peoples’ Party had become a popular political force in Karachi. Ghani said the PPP had gained this popularity owing to its public service. He said the Sindh Government of PPP was busy resolving Karachi’s problems.

He predicted that the MQM would fail to find candidates to contest the next elections in Karachi. He mentioned that the present MQM’s politics were just based on allegations.
