Saad questions Punjab govt’s ‘silence’ over IK murder attempt

ISLAMABAD: Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique wondered why Punjab government was ‘silent’ over situation created after assassination attempt on former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“Imran Khan’s security was Punjab government’s responsibility. Why are they silent? Responsibility to carry out free and fair investigations lies with them,” minister said while addressing a conference here. Saad Rafique said his party will not tolerate any criticism at Pakistan Army. “Everyone condemned Wazirabad incident. We are political opponents, not each other’s foes,” he said. He however said Imran Khan was leading a ‘failed’ march before he was shot at. “Political leadership should possess sensibility.
You should not speak that much bluntly,” he added. Khawaja Saad Rafique stressed need to promote harmony and tolerance at political scenario. He urged Punjab government to carry out transparent probe into assassination attempt on Imran Khan.
