Rupee sheds value versus dollar, settles at 282.29

Karachi: Rupee registered back-to-back losses against dollar, depreciating 0.24 percent in inter-bank market. As per State Bank of Pakistan rupee settled at 282.29, decline of Re 0.68.

After appreciating marginally, rupee started this week on negative note, settling at 281.61 against greenback in inter-bank market on Monday, decline of Re0.84 or 0.3 percent.

Meanwhile internationally, languished near multi-week low as fears of broader systemic crisis following collapse of US tech-focused lender left traders speculating that Federal Reserve could pause its aggressive rate-hiking cycle.

Against basket of currencies, US dollar index rose 0.09 percent to 103.77 after sliding 0.9 percent on Monday and hitting a one-month low of 103.47.
