Rupee falls to all time low of 252.5 against dollar

KARACHI: Rupee fell by 5.75 percent (or Rs 14.5) to an all-time low of Rs 252.5 against dollar in open market. Slump in rupee helped Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) jump by 1.87 percent (or 730 points) to 39,785 points.
Rupee plunged after currency dealers unanimously decided to stop artificially keeping rupee overvalued at Rs 238 against greenback for while. Topline Securities CEO Muhammad Sohail said that domestic unit dropped to Rs 252.5 against greenback.
