ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that contrary to reports and speculation by certain sections of media and as reported in a newspaper, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has not chosen or ruled out any candidate for interim Prime Minister as yet.

In tweet, she said that appointment of interim PM will be carried out according to procedure laid down in Constitution, both in letter and spirit. She said that PM would consult with all allied parties in government and would obtain guidance from PML-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to identify most suitable candidate. Minister said that after consulting with allies, Prime Minister will consult with leader of opposition in National Assembly to take decision on matter as per Constitution.
