Riyadh: Cristiano Ronaldo, the 39-year-old soccer legend, has launched his YouTube channel, and it has already attracted over a million subscribers within the first 90 minutes.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr and has represented Portugal for over 20 years, announced his channel’s debut on social media, encouraging fans to “SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey.” Just a few hours after his first video went live, Ronaldo’s channel, named “UR,” saw its subscriber count rise to 1.69 million. The channel will feature Ronaldo discussing his passion for soccer, as well as topics such as family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business. It will also include conversations with various guests. “I am very happy to make this project come to life,” said Ronaldo. “It has been in my mind for a long time but finally we have the opportunity to make it real.
Ronaldo, the most followed person on social media with 917 million followers across platforms, boasts 112.5 million followers on X, 170 million on Facebook, and 636 million on Instagram. While he is not yet the most followed person on YouTube — an honour currently held by MrBeast with 311 million subscribers — his channel quickly became the fastest to surpass 1 million subscribers, adding another record to his collection.
