Karachi: Residents of Mujahid Colony Nazimabad 4 staged a protest demonstration on main road from KDA Chowrangi to Nazimabad 4 to castigate razing down their homes in area. A number of residents blocked main road on both sides that inflicted severe difficulty to commuters for some time.

Earlier, Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Anti Encroachment Department on instruction of DG Muhammad Ali Shah and in pursuance of Supreme Court directives razed to ground around 100 illegal homes facing central road in Colony. Yesterday KDA, DMC Central and KMC officials came to serve further ejectment 3-day notices to owners of illegal made homes but on contrary residents showed resistance and refused to accept notices saying, several of residents have already been rendered homeless in previous operation by KDA and other civic authorities.

Police however tried to control situation and remained alert for any untoward incident damaging government of private property in area at hands of enraged residents of Mujahid Colony. This operation against illegal encroachments is being monitored by DC and Administrator District Central Taha Saleem.
