Karachi: The health secretary Sindh Mr. Rehan Iqbal Baloch is trying hard to save the skin of his blue eyed alleged friend former CFO NICVD Mr. Faisal Abdul Sattar, fired by the executive director Prof. Dr. Tahir Saghir on being found guilty of corruption, it's learnt by this scribe.

To get a pardon for Faisal Abdul Sattar, the health secretary has visited the national institute of cardiovascular diseases (NICVD) twice in three weeks but ED Prof. Dr. Tahir Saghir showed some courage and gave a cold shoulder to Rehan Iqbal Baloch, sources privay to the development told. Mr. Moosa Memon - COO SICVD, a close aide of Mr. Faisal Abdul Sattar has approached Rehan Iqbal Baloch urging him to save the skin of his friend and get him restored in his position as CFO, NICVD by hook or crook. On his request, the health secretary visited Prof. Tahir Saghir twice to get relief for Faisal Abdul Sattar but couldn't succeed.

Following the story this scribe visited the office of ED NICVD. Replying to questions, Prof. Dr. Tahir Saghir first denied any pressure from the health secretary for restoration of former CFO Faisal Abdul Sattar, however he confirmed that Rehan Iqbal Baloch visited him twice. "Secretary Sahab came here twice. Once to inquire about the health of his aunt and second time for his check up," he said.  When asked particularly about the former CFO case, Prof. Tahir Saghir said that during his visit the health secretary discussed the case in routine and told that the chief minister has assigned him to inquire about the matter.

"We have told him that Cass is already finalized. Some 54,00,000 rupees have been recovered from Faisal Abdul Sattar and he has also resigned. He is now on a one month notice period. Finally we will get his case approval from our board and cases will be closed," Prof. Dr. Tahir Saghir reaffirmed. Their scribe contacted the health secretary for his version on WhatsApp but he didn't reply. However, he can contact this scribe anytime for his version.
