Rehabilitation work of roads, drains underway, says Murtaza Wahab

KARACHI: Administrator Karachi said that work of rehabilitating various roads, drains and fixing of sewage system besides installation of paver blocks in Karachi is underway. “We are improving infrastructure affected by rains and every possible effort is being made to complete development work at a fast pace so as to provide convenience to citizens,” he said this on his visit to different areas of city.

He reviewed development work on II Chandrigar Road, Mumtaz Hasan Road and Boat Basin Clifton and directed officials to speed up work. On visit to Ziauddin nullah, he said that nullah heavy machinery is being used to clean drain and repairing is also being carried out. He reviewed ongoing development work under Karachi Neighbourhood Improvement Project at Clifton Boat Basin and issued necessary instructions to concerned officials.

Project Director Nazir Memon briefing him said that under project, construction work is being done in entire section from Shawn Circle to Bilawal House Chowrangi. Boat Basin Food Street and surrounding roads and footpaths are being beautified. Administrator talking to area businessmen said that completion of this project will add another project in city. A strategy has been prepared taking residents and businessmen into confidence. Administrator said that monuments are being built to promote local culture on pattern of other big cities of world. In three districts, developing works are underway under Karachi Neighbourhood Improvement Project.
