Karachi:  A reception was organised in premises of Consulate General Turkiye to celebrate 99th Anniversary of Proclamation of Republic of Turkiye. Government officials including Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Senator Nisar Ahmed Khuro, Minister Saeed Ghani, personnel of Armed Forces and business community attended.

CG Cemal Sangu said, “Today, we are all experiencing pride, joy and excitement of celebrating 99th anniversary.

This year we are deeply saddened by massive flood disaster and destruction it has caused. I wish almighty Allah’s mercy to our brothers and sisters who lost their lives in flood disaster and a speedy recovery to those who were injured. As brothers of Pakistan, we give all our support and solidarity to alleviate suffering of our Pakistani brothers and sisters”, Cemal Sangu said. Turkish Emergency and Disaster Management Authority AFAD, Turkish Red Crescent Society and with more than 10 Turkish NGOs are actively working in Sindh and Balochistan. Turkiye has provided 15 aircraft and 13 charity trains and around 10 trucks of aid.

We can never forget support given to us by Muslims of sub-continent during First World War. We are always grateful for people from this region. We have 90 thousand masajid in Türkiye and during flood time, every Friday prays Turkish people prayed for Pakistan during prayers and they collected aid for Pakistani brothers and sisters.  We are thankful for kind cooperation extended by KMC. Opening of Turkish Cultural Centre will further contribute to deepening of our cultural relations.

“We have 6 PAK-TÜRK Maarif schools in Sindh Region and these schools provide high-quality education to our Pakistani students. We have approximately 3,000 students in these schools and we are planning to increase numbers.  Pakistan’s security is important to us and it is equal to ours. In November there will be International Defense Exhibition-IDEAS in Karachi.

We are expecting around 30 Turkish defense companies to participate in exhibition. This is another indication of Türkiye’s strong determination to boost defense cooperation with brotherly Pakistan.
