KARACHI: Husnain Shah, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies-II, Karachi in his recent letter dated 10th January 2025 addressed to Deputy Director, District Central, Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) fraudulently stated that there was no legal hitch or stay operative at any competent court of law, in the NAB and the Anti Corruption Establishment authorities against corrupt management of Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Housing Society of District Central, Karachi.
Informed sources disclosed that in Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society ST-2 there was total Number of 17 buildings constructed for its residents having four story apartments. However, out of those 17 only two i.e., KA16 and KA17 have obtained the completion certificate while remaining 15 numbers were being utilized without completion certificates. Out of these buildings K6 (35-flats) and K3 extension (25-flats) were declared as case property by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in case No.29/2018 investigations.
In this case of Rs 800 million embezzlement from Society fund against dozen accused office bearers of the Society there were three officials also involved from SBCA nominated namely; Pervez Akhtar, Hameedullah Sheikh and Mazhar Ali Shah and one culprit from Registrar Cooperative Societies Haajan Shah were arrested. According to sources the case was yet to be decided by the NAB court while the involved criminals were on bail, few of them were punished too.
However, even today the illegal occupant administrative committee was misusing the public funds indiscriminately without any fear of being caught or nabbed by any law enforcement agencies but being patronized by the Registrar Cooperative Societies-II, the sources added.
