Karachi: Administrator DMC East Syed Shakil Ahmed imposed rain emergency in district in view of expected rain and directed officials to be present to provide relief to citizens and fully active in rain.

Inspecting of de-watering pumps and other arrangements he said that special arrangements should be made for drainage in places where water was accumulated in last rainy season and if needed dewatering pumps should be installed there in advance so that public can be saved from trouble by ensuring drainage in time. He said that in rain, district would play every possible role to provide facilities to citizens. Officers also should play their role by keep staff active and schedule should be issued immediately according to rain emergency and dewatering pumps including other arrangements should also be kept complete. He ordered numbering on machineries including dewatering pumps.

Director DM Tauqeer Abbas, Deputy Director Irshad Ali, Assistant Executive Engineer Muhammad Ibrahim, In-charge Debris Removal Rao Shamshad and others were present.
